Funeral Services for Paul Kenneth Sparks will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Dalton-Holmes Chapel. Bruce McLaughlin will officiate. Paul was born Monday, November 21, 1932 in Stringtown, Oklahoma to Paul & Marie Belle (Brown) Sparks. He passed from this life on Monday. March 22, 2010 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 77.
Paul was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma. He graduated SOSU with a degree in accountin. He retired from Big Five after 23 years. He enjoyed his job and loved his family. Paul served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1976. On April 23, 1955 he married Hazel (Kelley) in Atoka, Oklahoma. Paul was also a member of the Cobb Baptist Church.
He was preceeded in death by: Parents: Paul & Marie Sparks; Sister: Mary Allen; Brother: Bill Sparks.
Survivors include: Wife, Hazel Sparks of the home; Son, Jason Sparks; Daughter-in-law, Christie Sparks both from Durant; daughter, Andrea Thompson; son-in-law, Kenny Thompson both of Ardmore; and five grandchildren.
Internment will be at Highland Cemetery in Durant with Jason Sparks, Wayne Blankenship, Raymond McBride, Biren Coffee, Anthony Farrell and Greg McBride serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: Kenny Thompson and Dusty Sparks.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the funeral home from 5-7 pm.
