Aron Paul South

Aron Paul South, a resident of Achille, Oklahoma, and beloved family member, left this life, on Sunday May 27, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born in Bennington, Oklahoma on February 19, 1937 to Joseph Lee and Emma (Middleton) South. Aron married his beloved Birdie in New Allison, Oklahoma on August 14, 1958, she preceded him in death in 2005.

Aron made his living as a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed: the quiet solitude of fishing, camping under the stars, and a good game of cards or dominos. Aron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he cherished his family.

Mr. South is survived by his sons, Randall South and wife Theresa of Achille, Oklahoma, Calvin South of Durant, Oklahoma, and Tommy South of Achille, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brandon South and wife Alicia of Kemp, Oklahoma and Justin South and wife Ashleigh of Achille, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Ariana South, Kaitlyn South, and Raelee South.

Mr. South was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma South; cherished wife, Birdie; one sister and four brothers.

Family hour will be from 6-7:00 PM on Wednesday May 30th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday May 31st at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Pastor Jesse West officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant.
