Phyllis "Neoma" Shepard

Phyllis "Neoma" Shepard a resident of Roberta, Oklahoma and beloved family member left this life and arrived in Heaven on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born on November 5, 1934 in Durant, Oklahoma to Noah McDuffy and Mamie Lucille (McManus) Coker. Neoma married the love of her life Robert O. Shepard in Durant, Oklahoma on June 6, 1952.

Neoma was a dedicated member of the Roberta Baptist Church. She earned her Master degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Neoma taught High School Business at Blue and later at Rock Creek. She enjoyed many things during her lifetime; working crossword puzzles, sewing, reading, cooking, camping, picnics, traveling, vacations, and walking with her husband in the snow. Neoma loved spending time with her children and grandchildren considering them her greatest blessing.

Mrs. Shepard is survived by her husband, Robert O. Shepard of Roberta, Oklahoma; children, Robert E. Shepard of Roberta, Oklahoma, Sherry S. Daniel and husband Dannie L. of Roberta, Oklahoma and Margie L. Cloud and husband Billy R. Sr. of Roberta, Oklahoma; brother, Dwayne A. Coker and wife Phyllis of Denison, Texas; sister, Nelma Jean Massengale of Cedar Hill, Texas; grandchildren, Samantha Dellinger and husband John of Roberta, Oklahoma, Amy Beaird and husband Rob of Frisco, Texas, Andrew Daniel and wife Lydia of Roberta, Oklahoma, April Hollingsworth and husband James of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carlotta Jacobs and husband Brad of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, and Billy R. Cloud Jr. of Roberta, Oklahoma; 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Shepard was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Mamie Coker.

Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Thursday, February 18, at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, at the Roberta Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Wingfield officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Dannie Daniel, Billy Cloud, Sr., Andrew Daniel, Billy Cloud, Jr. (BJ), John Dellinger, Rob Beaird, Jon Shepard and Mark Shepard.
