J. T. Russell of Arlington, Texas passed away in New Braunfels, Texas on December 14, 2011 at the age of 86 years 9 months and 17 days. He was born on Saturday, February 28, 1925 in Bryan County, Oklahoma to Thomas Andrew and Ann “Annie” (Williamson) Russell. J. T. married Genevieve Armstrong in Durant, Oklahoma on December 24, 1949.
J. T. was an electrician by trade in a defense plant and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Russell is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Friddle of Big Springs, Texas, Beverly Holland and husband Cecil of New Braunfels, Texas, Brenda Underwood and husband George of New Braunfels, Texas and Valerie Mims and husband Randall of Arlington, Texas; son, Randy Russell of Arlington,Texas; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Russell; parents, Thomas and Ann Russell; two brothers, Everitt and L.B. Russell. Family
Hour will be at 7-8:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home with Rev. James Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be George Underwood Jr., Mike Brown, James Russell, Andrew Russell, Thomas Mims, Anthony Russell and Byron Mims.
