Funeral Services for Jackey J. Ross, Jr. will be Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Victory Life Church in Durant, Oklahoma. Bro. Duane Sheriff will officiate.
Jackey was born Friday, July 10, 1959 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jackey J. Ross, Sr. & Wanda (Heinz) Ross. He passed away Tuesday, December 1, 1009 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 50 years. Jackey came to Durant from Greensburg, Kansas in 1998. He graduated high school from Stockton, Kansas in 1978 then went on to attend Goodland Vo-Tech. Jackey worked as a Locksmith for Sherman, ISD. Jackey was a member of Victory Life Worship Center where he also volunteered in the Multi-Media Department.
He enjoyed interacting and reading books with his son, Joshua. He loved family time, especially sharing words from the Bible with his wife. Jackey married Julie Janine (Brewer) on October 18, 1982 in Gainesville, Texas.
Preceded in death by: Grandparents Survivors include: Wife: Julie Janine Ross of the home; Son: Joshua James Ross of Durant; Parents: Wanda & Jackey J. Ross, Sr., of Salina, Kansas; In-Laws: Mr. & Mrs. Jimmie Brewer of Kingston, Oklahoma; Brother: Allen Ross of Salina, Kansas; Sister: Esther Kempton of Salina, Kansas; as well as 2 Nieces, 2 Nephews, 1 Cousin.
Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Lanny David, Leroy Norris, Jack Accountius, Steve Allison, Ron Masterson, Randy Hamby, David Anderson, Joshua Ross will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 5-7 P.M. at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home in Durant.
