Bill J. "Rodge" Rodgers

On June 25, 2019 our Heavenly Father took Bill J Rodgers a Durant resident to his eternal home. Bill passed in Calera, Ok. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday June 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant. Graveside will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Ok. Dr. Ray Earley will be officiating. He married Margaret Metcalf on December 28, 1973. He graduated from Durant High School & received his masters in education from SOSU. He taught school for 20 years in different cities throughout Texas. He served as a principal for 3 years. He served in the US Navy. Bill loved watching all sports with Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners being his favorites. Bill & Margaret loved going to garage sales, flea markets, chili cook offs, dancing, and most of all loved being with their family.

He is survived by his children LaQuita Cobb of Mead, OK, Anthony Kinnett & wife Della of Frisco, TX, & Christy Hill and husband David of Durant, OK. Grandchildren: Lori Hines and husband Michael, Stephanie Trout & husband Nathan, Jason Cobb & Julie, & Shawn Cobb. He has eleven great grandchildren & six great great grandchildren with two more on the way. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his parents William Otto & Audie Rodgers, brother Arvel Rodgers, nephew Jerry Rodgers, & a niece Christie Rodgers.

Pallbearers will be Nicky Taylor, David Bridges, Jason Cobb, Shawn Cobb, Tyler Cobb, Dylan Cobb, & Shawn Cobb Jr.
