Connie Higgins Robinson

Connie Robinson passed from this earth Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma at the age of 94 years 2 months 12 days. She was born on Saturday, Febuary 24, 1917 in Roberta, Oklahoma to Jess Hamilton and Vista Lee (Roberts) Higgins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Roberta Baptist Church, Roberta, Oklahoma with Rev. Jackie Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Her nephews will be serving as pallbearers.

Connie lived her whole life in Roberta, Oklahoma. She took pride in her role as a homemaker while raising her children. She was a member of the Roberta Baptist Church and she loved being a part of her Sunday school class. Connie loved books and read whenever she could. She mowed her own yard til she was 93 years old. She married Ernest Robinson on December 19,1935 in Roberta, Oklahoma.

Her surviving relatives are son, Ernest Max Robinson and wife Barbara of Roberta, Oklahoma; daughters, Leta Loftis of Roberta, Oklahoma, Wilma Border and husband David of Armstrong, Oklahoma, and Betty Cates and husband Cliff of Greenville, Texas; son, Sam Robinson and wife Billie of Durant, Oklahoma; sister, Billie Kistler of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, a host of friends as well as many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Robinson is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Vista Higgins; husband, Ernest Robinson; sister, Lorene Anderson; brother, Gail Higgins; grandsons, Samuel, David Robinson and L.D. Sweeney.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations may be made to the Roberta Baptist Church building fund. Family and friends may send online condolences and view tributes at www.coffeymurray.com.
