Dovie Roberts was born Monday, February 28, 1921 in Arkansas to Robert Jefferson & Sarah (Lett) Howard. She passed from this life on Friday, May 14, 2010 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 16 days. Dovie married Arthur Roberts in 1958 in Durant, Oklahoma.
She loved to read Western Books. Mrs. Roberts was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker who loved her family.
Surviving Relatives: son, Vascal Young of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Johnny Young & wife Brenda, of Marietta, Oklahoma; son, C. G. Young & wife Joyce, of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Lavelle Gomez & husband Frank, of Montclair, California; daughter, Linda Kay Bugg & husband Larry, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by: parents, Robert and Sarah Howard; husband, Arthur Roberts; Three Brothers; Four Sisters. Funeral Arrangements: Services will be Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Johnny Young will officiate.
Family Hour will be Monday, 7-8 P.M. at Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be: Glendel Rushing, Randy Johnson, Terry Murphy, Ray Vinson, Chance Johnson and Walter Batterton.
