Harold Wayne Rambo, a friend to many, left this life on Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 84. He was born in Bryan County, Oklahoma to the late Ira D. and Annie Belle (DeVault) Rambo on August 16, 1931.
Harold graduated from Cobb School in 1952, where he especially enjoyed playing baseball. Harold enjoyed spending time with his cherished Aunt Frances Rambo and loved traveling to her basketball games and other numerous activities. He loved baseball caps and wore one everywhere he went. Harold loved family get-togethers, especially if they included fried catfish or hamburgers. He had an outgoing, friendly personality and no matter where he went, he ran into someone he knew or that knew him. For a number of years, Harold Wayne was an employee of the Sheltered Work Opportunities of Bryan County, where he received many honors, awards and recognitions. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church until he was no longer able to attend.
Harold is survived by cousins Geraldine Floyd Martin of Hurst, Texas; John Duane Wells and wife Lynn of Lancaster, California; Doris Jean Weeks of Essex Junction, Vermont; Debbie McDonald Lee and husband Roger of Allen, Texas; Teri Kay Rambo Anderson and husband Ryan of Arlington, Texas; and Louis McDonald and wife Peggy of Trenton, Texas. He is also survived by many other cousins, family members and friends.
Mr. Rambo was preceded in death by his parents, Ira D. and Annie Belle Rambo; his very special aunt, Frances Rambo; and many other aunts, uncles and family members.
Honorary pallbearers are J.D. Harlin, Jack McDonald, Kelly Bickerstaff, Louis McDonald, Boyd Wallace and Kelly McDonough.
A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday April 27, 2016 at the Highland Cemetery Chapel with Bro. Scott Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
