Edna Platt a resident of the Calera Manor Nursing Home in Calera, Oklahoma, left this life on February 7, 2018 at the age of 98. She was born in Tom Bean, Texas on October 24th, 1919 to Jacob S. and Winnie (Johnson) Morgan. Edna married Elmer Lovell Platt in Denton, Texas on March 19, 1938, they made their home in Durant, for 66 years.

Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother to numerous grandchildren, she was also a loving aunt and friend. She was blessed to have five generations of descendants present to share her life. Edna was a wonderful wife to Elmer, who preceded her in death in 2006. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, bead work, and arts and crafts. Edna was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant.

Mrs. Platt had two beloved daughters LaVerne Pack of Burleson, Texas and Sue Rhea of Durant, Oklahoma. Edna was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Morgan, ten brothers and sisters, and two cherished grandsons Gregory Rhea and Timothy Pack.

Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Thursday February 8th at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 2:00 PM Friday February 9th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery, the pallbearers will be James Dry, Allen Powell, Lloyd Newkirk, Kenny Gilmore, Kevin Davis, and Daniel Miller.
