Longtime Durant resident William H. (Bill) Pierot, Jr. passed away peacefully – surrounded by loving family & into the welcoming arms of Jesus on June 5th in Frisco, TX. Services will be held at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant, OK. Saturday, June 9th at 10 am with Rev. Raymond England officiating.

Bill Pierot was born in Durant, Oklahoma on October 17, 1933 to parents William H. Pierot, Sr. & Ada Pyrum Pierot. Bill attended Russell School at SOSU in Durant for all twelve years. Bill married the love of his life, Helen Ulch Pierot on July 1, 1953 at Rev. Elza England’s home in Denison, TX and they started a family with 2 daughters, Debbie & Kathy.

Bill worked for Colvert Dairy for many years & loved running his milk route where he could meet people. He also was a very successful Prudential Insurance agent & then later worked for Safeway, Green Spray, & Wynn Dixie. He truly loved serving the people of Durant & enjoyed singing Christmas songs to the shoppers over the intercom during the holiday season.

In the fall of 1970, Bill & the family decided to travel & spread the Gospel in song full time. They traveled on their Greyhound bus multiple times across the nation & held countless concerts. Bill would also give his testimony of being healed of cancer in 1966 – when the doctors only gave him six months to live. His love for singing Gospel music & meeting people was only surpassed by his love and caring for his family. He made sure his home was filled with joy and the love of God. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time fishing & working in his tool shed. He could literally fix anything that was broken!

Bill is survived by wife Helen Pierot of Frisco, TX, daughter, Debbie & husband Kip Crawford of Frisco, TX, daughter, Kathy & husband Rex Moore of Eagle Point, OR., grandson, Sean Welborn & wife Brandi, granddaughter, Nicole & husband Jacob Hert, great-grandsons, Chandler Aynes, JJ Welborn, Stetson Hayworth, Emmett Hert, & Holt Hert, & 1 sister, Mary Nichols.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Ada Pierot, 2 brothers, Clint & Reuben Luttrell, & 1 sister, Margaret Bryant.

Interment will follow funeral services at Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Randy Sullivan, Brian Ulch, Ronnie Hendrix, Damon Hendrix, Mark Ramos, & Jason Truett. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jack Linebarger & Rick Eggenberg.
