Margie Mae Kirby Padgett

Margie Mae Padgett, age 95, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her home. Margie was born on May 22, 1929, in Altus, Oklahoma to parent Joe Kirby and Esther (Harmon) Kirby. Marge as she was known moved to Durant in 1995 from San Rafael, California after retiring as Postmaster at the San Quinton Prison in California. She enjoyed bird watching, watching basketball, canning, and cooking. Marge was a loving and dedicated homemaker to her family, whom she dearly loved and treasured.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Janice Adams; sons Steve Padgett and Wendell Padgett; brothers Leroy, Billy, and Jimmy Kirby; and sisters Jolene Emerson and Donella Hatfield.

Marge is survived by her brother Don Yates; sister Helen Vino; grandsons James Padgett and wife Cheryl, Aaron Adams, Corey Adams, and Brett Adams and several great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2024, at Highland Cemetery Pavilion. Condolences may be sent to the family at brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
