Wilma Natoma Vails Moss

Wilma Natoma (Vails) Moss, 87, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at her home in Durant, Oklahoma. Wilma was born April 1, 1938, at the family home near Durant. Her parents were Cecil Columbus and Etola Cozetta (Tignor) Vails.

She attended elementary school in Blue and graduated from Bokchito High School in 1956. Wilma met the love of her life, David Moss, while working in the office at Johns Manville in Denison, Texas. They married in 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents Christopher Columbus and Bertha Viola (Frazier) Vails; maternal grandparents James Henry and Esther Leona (Courtney) Tignor; husband David; sisters Brenda Darlene (Vails) Hill and Billie Maxine (Vails) Dill; brothers-in-law Jimmy Hill and Steve Kirven; and nephew Stanley Trenton Dill.

Wilma is survived by her daughter Vicki Rene Prough; stepdaughters Deann Turner, Kristy Mayfield, and Stacy McCall; sister Shelia (Vails) Kirven; brother-in-law Dock Dill; nephews Steve Dill, Chris Dill, and Frankie Hill; nieces Kassidy (Kirven) Conway and Ashley Kirven-Bobier; six great-nephews and five great-nieces; great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces; many cousins, other relatives, and friends; and her special puppy Sadie.

A time for family and friends to visit will be Friday, May 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Home in Durant.

The memorial service will be Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery pavilion in Durant.
