Ray Mitchell, a resident of Utica, Oklahoma, left this life and joined his Savior on October 24, 2019 at the age of 77. Ray was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Charles Faye Mitchell and Opal Marie (Hart) Mitchell. Family hour will be from 6-8:00 PM on Monday October 28th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday October 29th at the Utica Baptist Church in Utica, Oklahoma with Rev. John Heath officiating. Ray's final resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. His pallbearers will be Karl Mitchell, Tony Simmons, Tyler Davis, David Dill, Dan Allred, Blake Allen, Seth Humphrey, honorary pallbearers will be Carson Nelson Colton Humphrey and Nathan Allred.
Ray was a member of the Utica Baptist Church. He enjoyed his life as a farmer and rancher, especially working cattle and driving his tractor. Ray cherished his family and was especially proud of this grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mitchell was survived by his: beloved wife, Peggy of the home: children, Cora Nelson of Utica, Oklahoma, Becky Simmons and husband Tony of Utica, Oklahoma, and Karl Mitchell and wife Cheryl of Utica, Oklahoma: grandchildren, Courtney Humphrey and husband Seth, Lacy Allred and husband Dan, Mindy Allen and husband Blake, Karlena Davis and husband Tyler, Raylee Dill and husband David, Jordan Nelson, and Carson Nelson: great-grandchildren, Colton Humphrey, Nathan Allred, Gavin Simmons, Trevyn Simmons, Emzlee Allred, Wesson Allred, Mitchell Davis, Andie Dill, Monte Davis, and Rory Allen: brothers, Bobby Mitchell and wife Betty of Utica, Oklahoma and Donny Mitchell and wife Rae of Utica, Oklahoma: Ray is also survived by his sister, Peggy Fredrick of Utica, Oklahoma.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Mitchell and Opal Griffith: sister Janette Quarles.
