Zona Gale (Cummings) Loyd was born on February 20, 1937 in Roberta, Oklahoma to Luther Lee and Bessie L. (Andis) Cummings. Zona passed away on June 27, 2018 in Grapevine, Texas at the age of 81.
Zona graduated from Blue High School and later married Billy Ray Loyd. Billy Ray preceded her in death on March 27, 1983. She later married Rev. Charles Loyd and they have been blessed with many years together. Zona worked for the Department of Human Services until her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed singing in church, selling Mary Kay and taking care of her family and home.
Zona was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Ray Loyd; parents; infant daughter, Peggy Ann Loyd; son, Eddie R. Loyd and two brothers, Pete Cummings and Don Cummings.
Zona is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles Loyd of the home; son, Mike Loyd of Unicoi, TN; step children, Randy Loyd and wife Mary of Grapevine, TX and Sherry Groves and husband Randy of Groesbeck, TX; sister in law, Eunice Manes of Denison, TX; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-9 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
