Mary Etta Loftis a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed into the arms of her Savior in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday December 23, 2017 at the age of 99. She was born in Lone Oak, Oklahoma to Allie Monroe and Gracie Lee (Slaton) Powell on October 16,1918. Mary married her beloved Aaron Eurice Loftis in Lone Oak, Oklahoma on October 26, 1940.
Mary dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She loved cooking delicious meals for those she loved, and she was a gifted seamstress. Mary was a dedicated faithful member of the Blue Baptist Church, she committed herself to teaching the Ladies Bible Study class. Mary was known as a selfless person who always put others needs before her own.
Mrs. Loftis is survived by her children, Jimmy Loftis and wife Carolyn of Blue, Oklahoma, Carolyn Traw and husband Larry of Blue, Oklahoma, and Ruth Ann Dill and husband Clint of Bennington, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Steven Traw of Sherman, Texas, Christopher Traw of Blue, Oklahoma, Paul Dill of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Michael Scott Dill of Caddo, Oklahoma, Jennifer Walker of Bonham, Texas, James Brian Loftis and wife Brook of Pryor, Oklahoma, Shannon, Robin Everett, Geneva Manion; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Allen Powell and wife Joan of Durant, Oklahoma; sister, Jeanie Wood and husband Norman of Sugarland, Texas; and also survived by her sister-in-law, Maridale Powell of Durant, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Loftis was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Gracie Powell; beloved husband, Eurice Loftis; brothers, Ed and Cloyce Powell; and sister, Louise Martin; daughter-in-law, Julia Loftis.
Family hour will be from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday December 26th at the Blue Baptist Church in Blue, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 2:00 PM with Bro. Dale Ballard and Bro. Norman Wood officiating. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery in Durant. The pallbearers will be Steven Traw, Chris Traw, Paul Dill, Scott Dill, James Loftis, and Zachary Dill. Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
