Jackie Wayne Lindley, Sr

Jackie Wayne Lindley SR, fondly know as J. W., a beloved husband, father, uncle, and resident of Durant, left his earthly body on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, in the comfort of his home at the age of 83 years old. He was born the son of Burnie Floyd SR and Ola Mae (Carter) on August 15, 1938, in Silo, OK. He married his loving wife Wanda Jean September 23, 1960, in Durant.

Jackie owned and operated J.W. Lindley Construction for 53 years with his sons, Jackie JR and Tracie. Jackie earned his bachelor’s degrees in math and chemistry from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had many hobbies that included woodworking, metal art and taxidermy. He was active in his kids’ lives through coaching in numerous sports. In his later years, he enjoyed his time at home watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow into his pride and joy.

Mr. Lindley is survived by daughters Terrie Johnson and husband Mike, and Tamra Lindley; son Tracie Lindley; sister-in-law Marilyn Lindley; daughter-in-law Tanya Lindley; grandchildren Ashley, Courtney & Kaylee Johnson; Devin Lindley and wife Chelsea; Hunter Lindley and wife Kayleigh; great-grandchildren Emrie Lue, Abrie Mae, Ivory Rose and on the way baby Lindley.

He is preceded in death by wife Wanda Jean Lindley; son Jackie Wayne Lindley JR; parents Burnie Floyd SR and Ola Mae Lindley; brother Burnie Floyd JR Lindley.

Graveside Services will be 12:00 PM Saturday August 21st at Highland Cemetery with Pastor Terry Brown officiating, and his family as the pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Ridgway, Danny Shephard, Roy Badger, Ted Sampson, Sid Lewis.
