Weldon Harold Knowles

Weldon Knowles, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and respected resident of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this life in Denison, Texas on January 11th, 2019 at the age of 91. A gathering of family and friends will be from 7-8:00 PM on Monday January 14th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday January 15th at the 1st Baptist Church in Calera, Oklahoma with Bro. Jacob Toews officiating. His final resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant with Kyle Harp, Jared Knowles, Gary Hall. and Perry Knowles as his pallbearers.

Weldon married his beloved Maudine in Denison, Texas on Christmas December 25th, 1948, she preceded him in death. He retired form serving his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Weldon loved the land and dedicated himself to caring for it as a farmer and rancher. He was a faithful fan of the OU football and Dallas Cowboys. Weldon was a member of the Calera 1st Baptist Church during his lifetime.

Mr. Knowles is survived by his: son, Randy Knowles and wife Nikki of Hurst, Texas: daughter, Karen Harp and husband Jeff of Denison, Texas: son, Brian Knowles and wife Kim of Denison, Texas: cherished grandchildren, Staci Gast and husband Skyler of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Kyle Harp and wife Mandi of Denison, Texas, Kelsey Vandyke and husband Jason of Abilene, and Jared Knowles of Austin, Texas, and six great-grandchildren: brother, Clayton Knowles of Bennington, Oklahoma: and sister, Janell Hall of Bennington, Oklahoma.

Mr. Knowles was preceded in death by his: parents, and wife Maudine: and four siblings.

The family respectfully request that memorials be made to the Calera 1st Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.

The service is under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Family and friends are encouraged to log on to our website www.holmescoffeymurray.com to leave messages of condolences.
