Jimmie Jay Hutchison of North Richland Hills, TX, was born on August 10, 1942, in Turlock, California, to Burdette Watson Hutchison Jr. and Sylvia Hutchison.
Jimmie lived a full life, beginning in California before moving to Tucson, Arizona, and later to Germany. During his time in Europe, he started high school, traveled extensively, and attended the World's Fair in Brussels. He eventually graduated from high school in Roswell, New Mexico, following his father's career in the military he joined the Army.
During Jimmie's military career he was stationed in El Paso at Fort Bliss as a specialist 4th class with the U.S Army Air Defense. Jimmie went on to have a long career in the airline industry, working for Frontier Airlines and American Airlines at over 20 years for each earing a retirement at both airlines. He earned numerous awards and accommodations during his time in the airline industry. Having worked for the airline allowed him to continue traveling the world.
Jimmie's love of travel took him all over the US to many National parks. He also traveled to Japan, Guam, Ireland, Scotland, England, Egypt, Canada, Mexico, South America, Caribbean's, Cuba, Belgium, Germany, and Greece, just to mention a few.
He was a man of family values and enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips with his son Jimmie Jr. and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Always making sure to make the trip from Texas to Oklahoma for every birthday and holiday. He was sure to bring a carton of ice cream on each trip with it most likely to be a carton of Braum's strawberry with real strawberries.
He had a great passion for hunting and was a Patriot life Member in the National Rifle Association, a member of the Texas Trophy Hunters association, and the Haltom City Rifle and Pistol Club.
Jimmie was a 32nd Degree Master Mason of the Scottish Rite for 50 plus years at the Wallace Hughston Lodge.
He was an avid collector of beer steins, guns, and knives.
Jimmie is survived by his son, Jimmie J. Hutchison Jr. and wife Charla of Utica, OK., brother, Robbie, and sister-in-law, Kim, of Alpine, CA., brother, David Hutchison, of Lakeside, CA., Grandchildren, Katy and Husband Kelby Archer of Utica, OK., Bryce Hutchison and wife Melissa of Utica, OK., Kyle Hutchison of Utica, OK., Great-grandchildren Adley Hutchison and Okley Hutchison of Utica, OK., Niece, Brittany Linder and husband David, and great-nieces Marseille Jean and Ailsa Skye of White House, TN., Krista Hutchison, of Alpine, CA., Nephew, Justin Hutchison, of Palm Springs, CA., along with his friends and neighbors from Texas. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service for Jimmie will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK with Mike Moody officiating.
Services are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Services.
