Doris Lillie (Sanders) Beckmon-Harris, age 94, of Durant,Ok. passed away June 21, 2020. Doris was born in Nashoba Ok, December 26, 1925 to Bert and Maud Sanders. She attended Elementary School in Feuel, Ok. and graduated from Clayton High, Clayton, Ok. in 1939. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education on May 27, 1965 from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Special Education with Minor in Art. Doris married twice, Reuel Dorsey Beckmon September 2, 1943 and Luther Harris January 28,1997. Doris attended Victory Life Church in Durant,Oklahoma. She enjoyed getting together with her family and friends, cooking, gardening and painting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Reuel Dorsey Beckmon and Luther Harris, and her son Reuel Clifton Beckmon.
Doris is survived by three daughters, Peggy King and Jimmy Cole of Milburn, OK, Pamala Huggins of Moore, OK, and Terri Glover of Durant,OK.
Surviving grandchildren are David Hill of Comanche OK, Stephen Huggins of Moore, OK, Crystal Beck and Monte Rouse of Kingston,OK, Trina Benavides and husband Rafael of ElReno,OK, John Huggins and wife Lisa of Moore, Michelle Beckmon and Frances Beckmon. Hervy Lee Glover, and Eric Glover of Durant,OK.
Surviving great-grandchildren are Hunter Beck of Edmond,OK, Aaron Beck and Colt Beck, Kingston, OK, Noah, Gabriel, Donovan,and Dashiel Benavides of ElReno, OK., Owen, Emme, and Theodore Huggins of Moore, OK.
Serving as Pallbearers : Hervy Glover, Hervy Lee Glover, Eric Glover, Aaron Beck, Colt Beck, Rafael and Dashiel Benavides
Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmy Cole, Monte Rouse, David Hill, Stephen Huggins, John Huggins, Dustin Walker
Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 29 at 2:00 PM at Victory Life Church, Durant, OK, with burial services to follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, Oklahoma for visitation.
