Evelyn Joy (Jestis) Goss of Durant, Oklahoma entered the arms of her Savior on August 17, 2022, at the age of 84. She was born March 5, 1938, in Durant, Oklahoma to Carl Jestis and Theo (Wedge) Jestis. Evelyn married the love of her life Edward Lee Goss, Sr. in Durant, Oklahoma on May 20, 1955.
Evelyn was the Office Manager for Drs. Bob and Phyllis Engles, and later for Dr. Chris Sturch until she retired after 50 years in the medical field. She was a devoted businesswoman, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Armstrong Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma. Evelyn enjoyed her family, friends, and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Edward Lee Goss, Jr. and his wife Julie of Durant, Oklahoma, granddaughters Alyssia Rhea and husband Cory of Pink, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Covey and husband Bretton of Hendrix, Oklahoma, great-granddaughter Sophia Rhea of Pink, Oklahoma, and great-grandson Connor Covey of Hendrix, Oklahoma.
Preceding her in death are her parents Carl and Theo Jestis, husband Edward Lee Goss, Sr., sister Estalene Grider, and brother Travis Carl Jestis.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma with Brother Anthony Williams officiating.
