Jimmie Clinton Gaither a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on New Years Day, Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born in Bennington, Oklahoma to William Leroy and Lilly Mae (Robertson) Gaither.
Jimmie was of the Baptist Faith. He served his country and community in the United States Army from 1952-1953. He worked for the City of Dallas in their water department for many years.
Mr. Gaither is survived by his daughter, Lillian O'Hagan of Avalon, Texas; granddaughter, Kathleen Black of Dallas, Texas; great-granddaughters, Amber Reyes of Avalon, Texas and Alicia Gaither of Waco, Texas; great-grandson, Arron O'Hagan of Avalon, Texas; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Luke Gaither of Dallas, Texas; sister, Marie Griffin of Tampa, Florida; niece, Ethel Gaither of Coleman, Oklahoma and Alexis Black.
Mr. Gaither was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lilly Mae Gaither; brothers, Hubert, Levi and Howard Gaither; sisters, Eva Thomas and Ivy Allen; grandson, Seth Ray Black.
A Funeral Service in honor of his memory will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Highland Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Dan McLemore officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery with full military honors.
