Services for Eugene "Gene" Fuller, 96, of Durant, who passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008, in Ardmore, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant. Rev. Darel Bunch will officiate.
Gene was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1912, in Durant to John and Mary Jane Maddox Fuller.
He married Dorothy Louise Shelton on May 16, 1932, in Durant.
Gene was an auto mechanic.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant.
He loved to play dominoes, camping, RVing, delivering Meals on Wheels, visiting with people at the hospital and many other different types of charity work.
Gene was the former owner of the 5th Street Grocery and member of the Odd Fellows and V.F.W. He served in the Navy during WW II.
He passed away Wednesday in Ardmore, after spending three years in the Ardmore Veterans Center with whom the family would like to thank for all their kindness.
Gene was preceded by his parents, wife, sister, Cloel Calhoun and brothers, Oscar and Fred Fuller.
He is survived by son, Bobby Gene Fuller and wife Linda, Calera; granddaughters, Kathy Campbell and husband Robert and Pam Larmouth and husband Richard, all of Nevada, Cynthia Horton, Durant, and Kimberly Dehart, Wichita Falls, Texas; brother Coy Dee Fuller Sr. and wife Lois, Oklahoma City; sisters Ruth West and Margeree Mills, both of Tulsa; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Durant.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Karnes, Jimmy Fuller, Michael Horton, Robbie Horton, Bradley Ballard, Robert Campbell, Steve Horton and Phillip Calhoun.
Family hour is today 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant is handling the arrangements.
