Linda Edelen, a cherished, and beloved family member, and resident of Port Arthur, Texas left this life on Thursday July 20, 2017 at the age of 67 years 7 months and 30 days. She was born on November 21, 1949 in Durant, Oklahoma to Charles and Ruby Lee (Hayes) Horton. Linda married her beloved Eddie Edelen in beautiful Padre Island, Texas on May 21, 1973.
Linda was a amazing, strong, stubborn, loving, selfless person with a compassionate heart. She enjoyed talking on the phone sharing jokes, laughter, and conversation. Linda loved sharing coffee with her dear husband Eddie every morning, and always looked forward to going dancing with him. She had a heart of gold and literally held her family together. Her passing will leave a empty place that no one else could ever fill.
Mrs. Edelen is survived by her cherished husband, Eddie of the home; son, Mike Edelen of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Alicia Edelen of Durant, Oklahoma; god-daughter, Samantha Hale Tucker of Calera, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Trevor Edelen of Port Arthur, Texas, Lacy Roberson of Calera, Oklahoma, Tra Allen of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Storm Edelen and wife Ashley of Beaumont, Texas, Macy Edelen of Durant, Oklahoma, and Allie Edelen of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Kynsli, Keaton, Dyson, Cassius and Kaisyn (Bo Peep); brothers and sisters, Sherry Anderson of Durant, Oklahoma, Charles Horton and wife Ruth of The Colony, Texas, Robin Postier and husband Paul of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Bonnie Reagan of Maryville, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews, and others she thought were her children.
Mrs. Edelen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. and Ruby Horton; son, Dustin Edelen; and brother, David Horton.
Family Hour will be from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday July 24th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Dale Dills officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant. Serving as pallbearers will be Alicia Edelen, Storm Edelen, Jeremy Chesney, Michael Edelen, Tra Allen, Travis Mitchell and serving as honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Edelen
