Evelyn Dennison passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the age of 89 years 6 months and 9 days. She was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on Thursday, May 31, 1923 to Roy Elisa and Cora (Tatum) Gough. Evelyn married Frank K. Dennison in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, June 21, 1952.
Evelyn spent most of her life as a waitress. She was a telephone operator in the late 1940's and 1950's. Evelyn was employed by Docutell in Irving, Texas manufacturing the first ATM machines. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Evelyn loved to read, watch T.V. and paint. For the past 3 years she had been a resident of the Kings, Daughters and Sons Nursing Home.
Mrs. Dennison is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jean Graham and husband Carl R. of Durant, Oklahoma, Bonnie Sue Mimms and husband Charles of Durant, Oklahoma and Kathy Marie Mitchell and husband Butch of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, David D. Burris of Irving, Texas, Michael F. Burris of Garland, Texas, Ryan O'Neal of Irving, Texas, Kelly Eugene Mitchell of Durant,Oklahoma, Patrick Ray O'Neal of Irving, Texas and Rebecca Sue O'Neal Lopez of Durant, Oklahoma, Oklahoma; niece, Pat Juris of Surprize, Arizona; nephew, Roy D. Rogers of Allen, Texas; 19 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dennison was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Cora Gough; husband, Frank K. Dennison; sister, Dorothy Marie Rogers Hill.
Family Hour will be from 6-8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Rev. Dan McLemore officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kelly Mitchell, David Burris, Michael Burris, Raul Lopez, Ryan O'Neal and Patrick O'Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Mitchell and Daniel Mitchell.
