Durant- Paul Edwin Davidson passed from this life on Monday, October 28, 2024 in Denison, Texas at the age of 81. Paul was born on Tuesday, December 1, 1942 in Denison to the late Curby Woodrow Davidson and Bessie Ola (Hill) Davidson.
Paul grew up in the Texoma area around Denison and Durant. He worked at the Deleon Peanut Company in Durant for 8 years and living in Claremore, Oklahoma he worked at picking mussels. Paul would later live in Clinton working at a turkey plant before residing in Elk City traveling as a foreman for a seismography company for 20 years.
Paul was very outgoing and liked fast cars as a youngster. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid fisherman making his own bait. He loved to junk and could strike up a conversation with whoever was around. Paul's love for his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids was immeasurable and would help anyone of them or his friends if needed. He was very independent and did not like it when his doctor told him he could not drive anymore. Paul was such a huge jokester that he never met a stranger, and everyone who knew him loved him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Ester Bolt; a daughter, Judy Ann Davidson; grandsons, Shawn Davidson and Jeff Houston; grandmother, Amanda Hill; uncle, William Hill; parents- in- law, Lois and OT Bridges, Sarah and James Grant; sisters and brothers Lucy Fay and Ed Baker, Virgi Harlin Barber, Charles Kenneth and Ruby Davidson, Ima Jean and Dan Gullup, James Robert Davidson aka Joe Broke, and Carolyn Elaine and Michael Eurcho; family members Melton Bridges, Tommy Bridges, Diann Bridges, Richard Bridges, Gladys and Jack Powell, Debbie Grant, Clistie Williams, Mattie Baker, and Henry Loretta Grant.
Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Davidson of Durant; kids and step-kids Mary Giden, Johnny Davidson, Delores Davidson, James and Karen Wade Davidson, Paul "Peter Paul ' and Rose Davidson, Somatha and Jessie Dalrymple, Shelby and Javier, Lois Goodman and JD Drigger, and Amie Davidson and Patrick; 39 grandkids, 47 great-grandkids, and 2 great-great grandkids. Ex-wives Shirley Miller, and Mary Smith, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 2nd, at Brown's Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Randy Tadlock officiating. Committal services will follow at Highland Cemetery pavilion with James Davidson, Casey Littrell, Harley Crowell, Jr. Riter, Tiffany Littrell, and Calvin Grant serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive and greet friends on Friday, November 1st, from 6-8 PM at Brown's Funeral Home.
