Charlene DaVault passed from this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years 9 months and 23 days. She was born on Saturday, December 12, 1936 in Yuba, Oklahoma to Charlie E. and Ottoma (Jackson) Dunn. Charlene Dunn married John DaVault on Saturday, November 7, 1953 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Mrs. DaVault was a charter member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma. Charlene owned The Styling Room and was a beautician. She spent many years making the ladies of Durant beautiful and enjoyed every minute of it. Charlene especially enjoyed her time with the Seniors at the Sterling House making their days a little brighter after fixing them up. She was creative and liked to make silk flower arrangments. Charlene enjoyed watching sports on television with family. She enjoyed games of all kinds and especially loved playing them with her family and loved to have tea parties with her great-grandson.
She is survived by her husband, John S. DaVault of the home; son, Joey DaVault and wife Sharron of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Angie DaVault of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dr. Jason DaVault of Durant, Oklahoma, Dustin DaVault of Durant, Oklahoma, Riley DaVault of Norman, Oklahoma, Kylie DaVault of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sara Moore of Norman, Oklahoma and Ryan Moore of Norman, Oklahoma; great-grandson, Jayden DaVault of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Wayne Dunn of Mesquite, Texas; sister, Sue Riley of Plano, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. DaVault is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ottoma Dunn and son, Randy Charles DaVault.
Family Hour will be 5-6:00 P.M. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Holmes~ Coffey~Murray Chapel with Rev. Anthony Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason DaVault, Dustin DaVault, Riley DaVault, Jeff Ballew, John Ross, Paul Smith, Dennis Naifeh and Johnny K. DaVault.
