Services for Ollie Vest Damron, 98, of Durant, who passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Four Seasons Nursing Center, Durant, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Fairview Baptist Church. Revs. Bill Ledbetter and Gerald Kelly will officiate.
Ollie was born Thursday, March 24, 1910, in Flora, Arkansas to Melvin Arthur and Cora Ida Bowren Vest.
She married Robert Guthrie Damron on September 12, 1931, in Durant.
She was a longtime Bryan County resident. She was active in the Pleasant Hill community over the years.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Bobbie Gwen Clark and eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy McCraw and husband Robert, Durant; sons, Melvin Damron and wife Trinity of Davis and Loren Damron and wife Pat of Kingston; granddaughters, Sueanne Brower and husband Mitch of Tulsa, and Leslie Carol Burgess of Durant; grandsons, Stan Keith White of Durant, Kyle Melvin Damron and wife Christy of Davis, John David Damron and wife Kristi of Cartwright and Robert James Damron of Kingston; great-granddaughters, Amber Lynn Doenges of Tulsa, Angela LeeAnn Burgess of Arlington, Texas, Courtney DeAnn Petty and husband Jessie of Durant, Brittany DeAnn White of Durant, Heather Reams and husband J.W. of Pauls Valley and Chloe Damron of Cartwright; greatgrandsons, Michael Alan Coday and wife Brooke of Connecticut, Daniel Lee Burgess and wife Khristy of Durant, Guthrie Damron of Ardmore, Andrew Damron of Cartwright and Terry Leslie Burgess and wife Susana of Dallas; sister, Stella Langham of Durant and six great great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to Four Seasons Nursing Center for all of the special care that was given.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Durant.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Damron, John Damron, Robert Damron, Daniel Burgess, Terry Burgess, Stan White and Michael Coday.
Family hour will be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.
