Earl C. Collins a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the age of 79 years 10 months and 2 days. He was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 28, 1933 to Thomas Wayne and Lura Ella (Butler) Collins. Earl married Ruedell Watkins in Crane, Texas on November 23, 1956, and they were married for 49 years.

Earl served his country and community in the United States Army as a Paratrooper. He was a Captain of the Odessa Fire Department and in 1984 retired from that position after 23 years of service. Earl and his wife Ruedell raised cattle on their ranch in Durant, Oklahoma for 29 years.

Mr. Collins is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Watkins and husband David of Midland, Texas and Ronda Williams of Littlefield; son, Jerry Collins and wife Donna of Mansfield, Texas; granddaughters, Michelle Jetton and husband Tim; Stacy McFarland and husband Derek; grandsons, Jacob Watkins and wife Kimberly, Justin Watkins and wife Becky and Douglas Williams; great-grandchildren, Kain, Cougar, Avree, Emree, Garrett, Jace, Alli, Gator and Alice Nicole and friend, Gwen Williams.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lura Collins; wife of 49 years Ruedell Collins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Thomas Donnell, Tommie Ree and Bernard Ordener and Vernell Collins; grandchildren, Jordan Aaron Watkins, Jarrod Ethan Watkins and Laura Engle Williams.

The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Odessa Fire/Rescue Benevolence Fund PO Box 4398, Odessa, Texas 79760.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma with his son-in-law David Watkins officiating.
