Melissa Beth-Ann Coker a resident of Calera, Oklahoma and beloved family member passed away too soon in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the age of 36 years 5 months and 18 days. She was born in Durant, Oklahoma to William and Rebecca (Collins) Coker on Wednesday, January 24, 1979.

Melissa worked for Cigna Insurance. She loved to go shopping and try new restaurants. But the most important thing in her life was her family, especially her small son Kai.

Melissa is survived by her son, Kai William Pratt of Calera, Oklahoma; parents, William and Rebecca Coker of Calera, Oklahoma; brother, Derek Coker and wife Riley of Durant, Oklahoma; grandparents, Wanda and Don Harmon of Durant, Oklahoma; nephews, Will and Evan Coker of Durant, Oklahoma; niece, Molly Coker of Durant, Oklahoma; father of her child, Kenneth Pratt of Dallas, Texas; aunts, Darla, Carla, Andi, Saundra, Lou and Sue; uncles, Jackie and Joe.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandmother, JoAnn Shinn; paternal grandparents, Billy and Abby Coker; great-grandmother Ann Holder.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 ~ 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the The River Fellowship in Durant with Bro. Virgil Cornwell officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Hicks, Preston Holder, Buddy Holder, Chuck Howell, Billy Collins and Luke Kidd. The honorary pallbearers will be Marris Foster, Jr. and Wesley House.
