Lloyd Wayne Cobb passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Calera, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years 2 months and 16 days. He was born to Herman and Oneta (Campbell) Cobb on Saturday, June 4, 1938 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Lloyd was a proud member of the Calera Rising Star Masonic Lodge #129 and a Shriner. Played football, basketball in school. Loved to fish, hunt and listen to country music. Loved "get togethers" with family and friends to laugh, joke, and eat good home cooked meals. He could brighten up a room with his smile and laughter. He enjoyed the mountains, riding around and looking at the scenery. He enjoyed working at Sherrod's RV Park for several years after he retired from the construction business. He enjoyed meeting new people.
The family would like to thank special caregiver Angie Cook and Victory Home Health for the loving, compassionate care they gave Lloyd and for brightening his days.
He is survived by sons, Ronnie Cobb of Arlington, Texas and Johnnie Cobb and wife Peggy of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren, Conrad Cobb of Arlington,Texas; Casey Cobb of Mansfield, Texas and Colby Cobb of Mansfield, Texas; caregiver and cousin, Patsy Manners and husband Thomas of Durant, Oklahoma; and numerous relatives, family and friends.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Oneta Cobb. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 25, 2011, Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Marlin Blakenship officiating. The Masons will conduct masonic rites prior to going to the cemetery. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Durant, Oklahoma. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Corley, Sanford Jackson, Caleb Jackson, Thomas Manners, Nick Cox, Tomila Hearon and Mike Hearon.
