Paul Heiling Casteel was born September 23, 1929, to Clarence and Oleta Casteel (Gardner) in Farris, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on January 19, 2024, in his home, at the age of 94. On September 25, 1964, he married Louise Taylor in Durant, Oklahoma. Paul and Louise opened Casteel's Tire in 1976 and had many wonderful years providing services for the community. Paul was very dedicated to his business and took a lot of pride in helping his customers. Paul and Louise retired from their business in 1995. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Paul also enjoyed farming and taking care of his cattle.
Paul was preceded in death by his late wife Louise Casteel, parents Clarence and Oleta Casteel, and his siblings.
Left to cherish his memories are children Paula Zeiter and husband Nick of Napa, CA, Carmen Sprouse and husband Billy of Durant, OK, Shana Fikes and husband John of Calera, OK, and Paul Casteel Jr of Enid, OK; grandchildren Dusti Brigman, Chelsea Williams, Alex Carr and Matthew Fikes and 4 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Brown's Funeral Service of Durant. Committal services will follow at Highland Cemetery Billy Sprouse, Nick Zeiter, John Fikes, Matthew Fikes, Alex Carr, and Jerryk Williams serving as pallbearers. The family will receive and greet friends Friday, January 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant.
