Louise Carriger, devoted wife, caring mother and retired nurse, has had a change of address from 1422 West Waco, Durant, Oklahoma to Heaven on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Calera, Oklahoma. Louise was born July 12, 1922 in Wardville, Oklahoma to Joe and Pearl Abigail (Kelly) McCulley.
She was a hospital nurse and had her L.V.N. and L.P.N Licenses. Mrs. Carriger was a member of the NRA and a member of the Victory Life Church in Durant. She enjoyed playing the piano and guitar and singing in church.
Surviving relatives: husband, Johnnie Jack Carriger of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Billy Joe Carriger and wife Pat of North Richland Hills, Texas; grandson, Robin Carriger and wife Cindy of North Richland Hills, Texas; granddaughter, Staci Weekly and husband John of Haltom City, Texas; great-granddaughter, Charity Bankhead and husband Chris of Conroe, Texas; great-grandson, Christopher Carriger of North Richland Hills, Texas; sisters-in-law, June Carriger of McAlester,Oklahoma and Roberta Ann Edwards and husband Bob of McAlester,Oklahoma; nephew,Jimmy Carriger and wife Shirley of Palestine, Arkansas; nieces, Janet Gleese and husband Tom of McAlester,Oklahoma and Debbie Paulk and husband David of Blanchard, Oklahoma as well as many other relatives and friends.
The family would especially like to thank caregivers Patty Kuykendal, Anne Sipes and Janelle Pierce.
Preceded in death: Parents, Joe McCalley and Pearl Thompson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Victory Life Chapel, Durant, Oklahoma. Pastors Duane Sheriff and Lee Armstrong will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Marlow, Jeff Patton, Darrell Thornton, Sam Ham, Frank Gilbert and Roger Mayhew. Honorary pallbearer will be Ted Moore.
Family Hour will be Monday, February 21, 2011, 6-7 P.M., at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
