Viola Beatrice Calhoun was born on Friday, June 18, 1920 in Durant, Oklahoma to Jack Pearson & Myrtle (Wilhemin) Pearson. She passed from this life on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in Calera, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 24 days. Viola married Ernett Calhoun on July 25, 1935 in Madill, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1997.
Viola loved going to garage sales and playing dominoes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Stone Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Jack Pearson and wife Joyce of Marlow, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Gladys Smith of Greenville, Texas; Beatrice Nance and husband Jimmy of Greenville, Texas; neices, Vickie Duke of Marlow, Oklahoma; Debbie Woolf and husband Leon of Marlow, Oklahoma; nephew, Keith Pearson and wife Karla of Duncan, Oklahoma; aunt, Iris Pearson of Durant, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and friends.
Viola was also preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mrytle Pearson; brother, Baylen Pearson; sister, Irene Louise Pearson.
Service will be held at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 16, 2010 Burial Will be at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Pearson and Leon Woolf.
