Leamon Owen Bullard, 81, of Marlow, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006, in Marlow.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow with the Rev. Cal Hunter officiating. There will be another service at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Fairview Baptist Church at 1200 W. University, Durant, with the Rev. Dan Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Durant under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home of Marlow.
Leamon was born December 13, 1924, in Kenefic, to William M. and Mattie E. Harrell Bullard.
He received his doctorate of theology from Andersonville Baptist Seminary in Camilla, California.
He married Addie L. Diggs on December 20, 1950, in Dougherty.
Leamon retired from civil service and was a Southern Baptist pastor.
He lived in several locations in the United States, including the Marlow area for nearly two years; Durant for 13 years; Achille for two years; Santa Rosa, New Mexico for 4 1/2 years; Altus for four years; Rio Oso, California, for 11 1/2 years; Cordell for 11 1/2 years; Sulphur for three years; Dougherty for two years; Shawnee for one year and Big Canyon for two years.
Leamon pastored several Southern Baptist churches in Oklahoma, California and New Mexico. He was the senior adult ministry leader and, during 46 years of ministry, he held many denominational offices.
He enjoyed fishing, camping out with family and activities with senior adults.
Leamon was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include his wife, Addie Bullard of the home; two sons, Owen J. Bullard and wife, Song of Copperas Cove, Texas and Bobby John Bullard and wife, Brenda, of Woodlawn, Tennesee; a daughter, Darla Bullard of Marlow; five grandchildren, Addie Song Bullard and Sandy Darla Bullard of Copperas Cove; Alexis Bullard of Woodlawn; Jenna Varnell of Florida and Aiden of Kentucky; two sisters, Ina Lee Daniel of Duncan and Willie L. Jamison of Midwest City; a sister-in-law, Ola Carrell and husband, John of Bokchito; lifelong friends, Tommy Patterson of Muskogee and F.M. Roundtree of Hurley, New Mexico and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jacky Wayne Bullard; a daughter, Donna Bullard; his parents; two brothers, Jay Bullard and Jack Bullard; and three sisters, Ruby Bullard, Alma Morgan and Kitty May Roundtree.
Pall bearers will be his nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bryan County Roadrunners in care of Bryan Baptist Association, 1925 W. Main, Durant, Oklahoma 74701.
