Caddo, OK- Robert Eston Buchanan was born October 20, 1949 in Durant, Oklahoma to Eston Buchanan Jr. and Dorothy Evelyn (Goza) Buchanan and passed from this life on Friday, March 19, 2021 in Denison, Texas at the age of 71.

Robert was born and raised in Durant. Prior to his retirement, he was a business owner of appliance repair shop. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam, receiving the Heroism award. He was an avid camper during the summer months, working in his yard, taking care of his chickens and spending time with his family. Robert was a member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, and with the Game Fowl organization. He embraced the role of brother-in-law to his brother’s wife and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Buchanan of Bonham, Texas, Rodney Buchanan and fiancé Christy Whethers of Colbert, Oklahoma, and Robert Buchanan and fiancé Jenni Daniels of Bennington, Oklahoma; two daughters, Angela Buchanan and wife Mary Lesnick of Sherman, Texas and Abby Courtney and fiancé Izzy Garcia of Atoka, Oklahoma; one brother, Gary Buchanan and wife Joyce of Durant, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Kay Buchanan of Durant, Oklahoma; and companion, Sue Langford of Caddo, Oklahoma; eight grandsons, Tannor Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan, Ryan Buchanan, Lane Tyree, Carson Buchanan, Cooper Buchanan, Shooter Buchanan and Adrian Garcia; three granddaughters, Alex Buchanan, Haley Buchanan and Emylee Buchanan and five great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dwayne Buchanan, Donald Buchanan and Ralph Buchanan; niece Kari Buchanan, and nephew Michael Buchanan.

Services to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 24, at the Highland Cemetery pavilion with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Servings as pallbearers will be William Coker, Chuck James, Hoss Williams, Ricky Simmons, Kaleb Johnston and Charley Woolard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Buchanan, Wes Akin, Carson Buchanan and Cooper Buchanan.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 22, from 6-8 PM at Brown’s Funeral Home.
