Barbara Martin Brown, a resident of Kenefic, Oklahoma passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 5 days.
She was born January 15, 1942, in Isleton, California to Herman W. and Clattie Morris Martin.
Barbara Martin married Paul Brown on Tuesday, July 30, 1957 in Fresno, California.
Barbara spent most of her life caring for others. She was a nurse at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant, Oklahoma.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Barbara loved playing cards and games with friends and family.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Paul of the home; daughter, Paula Brown Clark of Kingston, Oklahoma; son, Danny Brown of Kenefic, Oklahoma; brothers, Herman Martin, Jr. of Fresno, California and Garland Brown of Durant, Oklahoma; sisters, Sharon Campo of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Erline Brown of Durant, Oklahoma and Gerald Brown of Durant, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Clattie Martin and Clinton Brown.
A graveside service in honor of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Highland Cemetery in Durant with Rev. Dan McLemore officiating.
