Dorothy Eyvonne Brown, a beautiful soul and dedicated follower of her Lord Jesus Christ, left this earthly life on November 8, 2021, at the age of 83. She was born in Bennington, OK to Virgil Manners and Lois (Maedel) Manners on March 30, 1938.
Dorothy loved going to church and spending time with her family. She always made herself available to be with her cherished grandchildren, she enjoyed being in her garden, and traveling with her sister and niece Sherry. Dorothy was a woman of God and was loved by many. She had a caring nature and always put others needs before her own. Dorothy was humble and kind, your rarely saw her without a smile.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her children: Dottie Steakley, Dale Brown, Michael Brown, and Laura Johnson: brothers, Thomas, Neal, and Virgil Manners: 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren: and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her: parents, Lois and Virgil Manners, brothers, David, Calvin, and Loyd Manners, sister, Elizabeth Roach, husband, Joe Brown, and great-grandchildren, Sophie, Emery, and Donovan.
Family hour will be from 6-8:00 PM on Thursday November 11th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday November 12th at the Mead Baptist Church in Mead with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. Her final earthly resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant with grandsons Brandon, Ross, Andy, Justin, Briar, and Camden as her pallbearers.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK.
