Rosemary Bragg passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023, at the age of 74, in her lifelong hometown of Durant, Oklahoma. Born on November 11, 1949, to John Paul Bourne and Rosa Lee (Blackburn) Bourne, Rosemary's life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit and her dedication to her family and community.
Rosemary's journey began in the heart of Durant, where she was not only born but also chose to build her life and family. Her heart was full of love for her husband, Dennis Bragg, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including daughters Sandra Ervin, with her husband David of Calera, Oklahoma, Synthia Kirby, with her husband Kent of Henrietta, Texas, and a son by choice, Jared Whitaker of Durant, Oklahoma. Rosemary's legacy extends to her 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and love forward.
While her family was her pride and joy, Rosemary also experienced the loss of loved ones. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her siblings Roy Eugene Bourne, Loveita Rigdon, Kenneth Bourne, and Kathy Crowley, her son Robert Shannon Bragg, and her grandson Ryan David Ervin. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories remained a guiding light throughout her life.
Rosemary's professional life was marked by her compassionate service as a Nurse Practitioner. Her caring touch and warm presence were a comfort to many during their times of need. She was a cherished colleague and a friend to all within her professional circle, embodying the true essence of a caregiver.
Beyond her work, Rosemary was deeply involved in her community. She was a member of the Sew, Sew Club at Fairview Baptist Church, as well as meeting with the Blue Girls Group for a monthly luncheon.
Rosemary's interests reflected her love for the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid gardener, her hands often found in the soil, nurturing plants to vibrant life. Traveling was another passion, as she explored new places with the Sisters Group. Camping and fishing were cherished activities that allowed her to connect with nature. Rosemary also took great satisfaction in canning, preserving the bounty of her garden for her family to enjoy.
Those who knew Rosemary would describe her as loving, creative, and faith-filled.
