Kenneth Paul Bourne, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma left this life on December 9, 2019 at the age of 79. He was born in Durant on February 16, 1940 to John Paul Bourne and Rosa Lee (Blackburn) Bourne. Family hour will be from 3-4:00 PM on Sunday December 15th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A church service will be at 10:00 AM Monday December 16th at the Roberta Baptist Church in Roberta, Oklahoma with Bro. Mike Wingfield officiating. His final resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant with Darrell Rigdon, Curtis Rigdon, Cody Odom, JP Crowley, Carson Kirby, Joshua Ervin, John Teel and Vowell Posey as his honorary pallbearers.
Kenneth served his state in the Oklahoma National Guard. He had a master's degree in education, and was faithful to attend and be active in the Roberta Baptist Church. Kenneth earned his living as a teacher and retired from that profession. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and playing dominoes.
Mr. Bourne is survived by his dearest friend, Linda Bourne of Durant, Oklahoma, sister, Rosemary Bragg of Durant, Oklahoma, brother-in-laws, Dennis Bragg of Durant, Oklahoma and Robert Cole Rigdon of Mesquite, Texas, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
Mr. Bourne was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul Bourne and Rosa Lee Bourne, brother, Roy Eugene Bourne, and sisters, Loveita Joy Rigdon and Kathy Mae Crowley.
