Charles "Ross" Blakey a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life and joined his Savior on Tuesday December 6, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born in Whitewright, Texas on December 14, 1927 to Charles Ray and Eva (Cobb) Blakey. Ross married Callie Ruth Trimble on June 4, 1954 in Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Blakey served his country proudly in the United States Army, and was a member of the VFW. Ross attended the Western Meadows Baptist Church in Durant. He and his beloved wife Ruth made a good life together, working on their ranch side by side for many years. Ross loved hunting. He had a passion for the Texas Rangers baseball team and was one of their biggest fans.
Mr. Blakey is survived by his daughter, Cindy Gish and husband Steve of Canyon Lake, Texas; son, Randy Blakey and wife Angie of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Jamie Miller and husband Carl of Canyon Lake, Texas, Lynzi Estrada of San Marcos, Texas, Kelsey Gish and husband Chris of Kansas City, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Noah Miller of Canyon Lake, Texas and Adalie Widziewicz of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Jeannene Dyer and husband Jack of Gainesville, Texas; brother, Ken and Cathy Blakey of Gainesville, Texas; and caregivers, Debbie Grove and Lona Weger.
Mr. Blakey was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eva Blakey; wife, Ruth Blakey; he is also preceded in death by some of his brothers and sisters.

Family hour will be from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 8th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 9th at the Western Meadows Baptist Church with Bro. Cole Newton officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Gish, Noah Miller, Carl Miller, Paul Mays, Ken Blakey and John Richards. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Lunch will be served at 12:00 PM before the service at the church.
