Services for Leroy Bardwell (87) of Durant, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant. Officiating the service will be Tommy Kramer. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Grider, Jimmy Don Grider, Tommy Grider, Jim Thorpe, Elbert Kropp, and Mark Rawlings. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Clark, Jason Poe, Ryan Poe, and Tiffany Haddock. Family hour will be Friday, January 1, 2010 7-8 P.M. at the Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma
Leroy was born on February 9, 1922 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Isaac Louis and Zola Leona (Layton) Bardwell. He passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Denison, Texas at the age of 87 years 10 months 22 days Leroy married Frankie Helton on January 31, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico Mr. Bardwell Served in the U.S. Air Force from November 11, 1942 to February 11, 1946. He was a Retired Truck Driver. Enjoyed dancing at Pacesetters, gardening and playing dominoes and visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharlyn Poe & husband Drew of Aledo, Texas and Carol Stanfield & husband David of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Grandsons, Bill Clark & wife Susan of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jason Poe wife Kim of Justin, Texas, Ryan Poe of Aledo, Texas, Granddaughter, Tiffany Haddock & husband Mark of Plano, Texas, Sisters, Kathleen Grider of Durant, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Frank & husband Dan of Amarillo, Texas
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Zola Bardwell; Wife, Frankie Bardwell; Brothers, Otis and Irlie Bardwell; Sisters, Ethel (Bardwell) Kropp and Irene (Bardwell) Grider.
