Harold F. Anglin a resident of Alvin, Texas passed from this life on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the age of 82 years 3 months and 3 days. He was born in Lamar, Oklahoma on February 17, 1935 to Shannon and Vera Anglin. Harold married Joyce Anne Holt in June 1956.
Harold graduated from Durant High School, earning a B.S. at Southeastern State University, and a Master’s degree from Emporia State University. He served for 11 years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1953-1964. Harold taught High School Distributive Ed from 1964-1971, and was the state supervisor for Distributive Ed in Topeka, Kansas from 1971-1977. He moved to Pryor Oklahoma to become the Director of the Northeast Technology Center and some became the Superintendent, retiring from the school in 1998. Harold was appointed by the Governor of Oklahoma to be on the State Board of Education. He was an elder at the Pryor Church of Christ from 1979-2012. He moved to Alvin, Texas in 2012 and became a member of the Westside Church of Christ.
Mr. Anglin is survived by his wife, Joyce Anglin, married for 61 years of the home; daughters Janet Williams and husband John of Claremore, Oklahoma and Carol Stafford and husband Jeff of Alvin, Texas; brother, Bill Anglin and wife Nancy of Spring, Texas grandchildren, Andrea Owens, Brandon Stafford, Andrew Williams, Lindsay Stafford-Alba, and Anna Williams; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Logan Owens, Katie Stafford and Graham Williams; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that he adored.
Mr. Anglin was preceded in death by his parents, Shannon and Vera Anglin; brother, Dean Anglin; and grandson, Benjamin Williams.
A church service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Westside Church of Christ, 831 Heights Road, Alvin, Texas with Mr. Rayford Welch officiating. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday June 2, 2017 at the Pryor Church of Christ in Pryor, Oklahoma with Bro. Wayne Robbins officiating.
Burial will be at 2:00 PM Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion in Durant, Oklahoma. A family gathering will be from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM before the burial at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
