Gerald Anderson a lifetime resident of Roberta, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the age of 74 years 8 months and 14 days. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Claudie Leon and Virginia Loirne (Higgins) Anderson. Gerald married Mary in Durant, Oklahoma on April 27, 2002.
Gerald was a truck driver by trade. He was born and lived his whole life in Bryan County. Gerald enjoyed hunting and the quiet solitude of fishing. He loved guns and was a gunsmith also.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his children, Terry Anderson of Durant, Oklahoma, Claudia Perkins of Calera, Oklahoma, Monty Anderson of Durant, Oklahoma and Medeania Kilburn of McAlester, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anderson; parents, Claudie and Loirne Anderson; and a baby brother.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 7-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A funeral service in honor of his memory will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Roberta Baptist Church in Roberta, Oklahoma with Bro. Mike Wingfield officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jackie Don Williams, Jackie Williams, Bobby Gibby, Scott Anderson, Farron Kilburn and Garly Maddingly.
