Claude James (C.J.) White was born on February 12, 1932 to Claude and Beulah (Logan) White. He passed away in the loving arms of his wife at their home, Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Atoka County at the age of 85. C.J. married Berva Kletta (Jackson) White on July 1, 1955. They loved and adored one another for 62 years 8 months. They have been a blessing and inspiration to their children, grandchildren, many relatives, and friends.
C.J. served as a Radar Specialist in the United States Army obtaining the rank of Corporal, eventually earning the Marksman Metal. His occupation was auto repair, but his passion was woodwork and construction, farming and tending cattle, hunting, fishing, and helping anyone who needed his help with just about anything needed. He loved playing fun pranks on his family and friends, and the thrill he felt was a delightful part of his unique personality and will forever be remembered and laughed about. He loved and was loved by all his grandchildren which was apparent in the enthusiastic hugs and kisses he received from them all. C.J. Will be prayerfully missed by his loving church family of which he was a long-time member and deacon of the Voca Baptist Church.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Beulah; father and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Bertha Jackson; siblings, Johnny (Non) Delbert (Buck), D.A. White, Goldie Hall, and Ann Evans.
Mr. White is survived by his sons, Larry White and wife Donna of Caney, Oklahoma, and Nathan White and wife Lesa of Mead, Oklahoma; daughter, Claudia Nickles of Denison, Texas; brother, Tommy White and wife Virginia of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Amber and husband Donnie, Dena and husband Richard, Bo and wife Tesia, Aaron and wife Serena, Tyler and wife Lorianne, Chasity and husband David, Tayla and fiancé Devon, Brittni, and Kamryn; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Scarlett, Maylin, Emma, Kaylee, Emery, Kendrick, Henley, Ellis, Nolan, Olivia, Adlee, and Boston.
Family hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Tuesday February 6th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday February 7th at the Voca Baptist Church in Caney, Oklahoma with Bro. Frank Couch and Bro. Charles Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. The pallbearers will be Paul Rhines, Clifford Watson, Phillip Culbreath, Harlan Vaughn, Ken Cook, and Nick Williams, honorary pallbearers will be Don Gilmore, Sam Bailey, Doyle Watson, Richard Long, Ken Satterfield, and Ron Thomas.
