Eveline C. Thornton of Caddo, Oklahoma passed from this life at home on November 28, 2022. She was born in Caddo on January 19, 1933 to Lee Roy and Dollie Mae (Miers) Tipton.
Eveline enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and reading her Bible. She had a talent and love for quilting as well. Throughout the years, Eveline was very involved in her church and her commitment to her faith was very important to her. She was always the one you could count on to be there if someone needed help and was a volunteer driver for the State of Oklahoma, assisting those in need of a ride to medical appointments.
As a wife and mother, Eveline was consistently there to pass on her values and guidance to her loved ones. She was a beloved role model and will be remembered fondly for her laughter, soothing hugs and her enormous capacity to provide love and comfort to her children. Eveline will be missed by all those who held her close to their hearts.
Those left to cherish her memory are sister Verna Jones of Ottawa, KS, her son Tom Henry and his wife Julie Henry of Caddo, OK , and her daughters Madeline Lowery of Lancaster, CA and Mary Vargas and her husband Carlos Vargas of Yuma, AZ. Her legacy lives on with her granddaughters Jennifer Burkett and Delilah Vargas, her niece Caroline Jones, her nephews Terry Jones, Steve Jones, Stan Jones, and Ben Jones. Also surviving her are great- grandsons John S. Ralph III and Alexzander Burkett, and great-granddaughters Lauren Ralph, Morgan Teddy, and Nikki Burkett.
Preceding her in death are her parents Lee Roy and Dollie Mae Tipton, husbands Buck Henry and Tary Thornton, adopted sister Betty Jo Miller, and great-granddaughter Megan Ralph.
Family Hour is scheduled from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Randy Tadlock officiating. Eveline will be laid to rest at Gethsemane Cemetery following the funeral service.
Those serving as pallbearers are Tom Henry, Carlos Vargas, Eddie De La Rosa and Randy Tadlock.
