Betty Lou Stanley a lifelong resident of Caddo, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the age of 74 years 6 months and 21 days. She was born in Caddo, Oklahoma to Isaac Levi and Bettie Manesia (Ammons) Goss on Wednesday, July 20, 1938. Betty Lou married Jerry C. Stanley in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, March 29, 1958.
Betty Lou was a person with a strong work ethic. She was the manager of the Dairy Queen in Caddo, Oklahoma for 32 years. Betty Lou also owned and operated Stanley Service Station in Caddo for 25 years. She was a lifetime member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Caddo. Betty Lou enjoyed sewing, working in her garden, spending time with family and friends but she especially cherished the time spent with grandchildren.
Mrs. Stanley is survived by her sons, Jerry Dale Stanley and wife Rita of Granbury, Texas and Randall Stanley and wife Renee of Allen, Texas; daughters, Kathy Argo and husband Todd of Caddo, Oklahoma and Karla Beard and husband Mike of McKinney, Texas; special niece, Marsha Cunningham of Caddo, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Karleen Wingfield and husband Geoff of Caddo, Oklahoma; grandsons, Josh Stanley of Durant, Oklahoma, J. Steven Stanley of Princeton, Texas, J.W. Stanley of Durant, Oklahoma, Paden Stanley of Coalgate, Oklahoma, Kasey Argo of Caddo, Oklahoma and Tyler Beard of McKinney, Texas; granddaugther, Lauren Beard of McKinney, Texas; great-grandson, Austin Wingfield of Caddo, Oklahoma; great-granddaughters, Kylee Wingfield of Caddo, Oklahoma and Maddie Stanley of Durant,Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Bettie Goss; husband, Jerry Stanley; brothers, Homer, Edward and Bobbie Lee Goss; sisters, Ora Trotter, Ethel Whisenhunt and Lula Mae Haddock.
Family Hour will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
A Funeral Service in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Caddo with Rev. Steve Nation and Rev. Clifford Joines officiating. Internment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo. Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Edwards, Marion Ogle, Clay Freeny, Jimmy Carroll, Ted Wright and Joe McKinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Redwine and all the Caddo Dairy Queen Coffee drinkers.
The family suggest that memorials in her honor can be made to the Caddo Educational Foundation c/o Shamrock Bank P.O. Box 108, Caddo, Oklahoma 74729.
