Mona Alyne Simpson passed from this life on August 19, 2022. She was born September 25, 1938, to Simuel Lewis (Choc) and Daisy Anna (Allen) Smith in Lane, OK. Mona married Jerry Wayne Simpson on June 23, 1956, and they were united in marriage for 51 years.
Mona served her community as a Nursing Home Administrator, was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, shopping and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry Wayne Simpson; son Bruce “Hoss” Simpson; granddaughter Mindy Daniel; and twin sister Vona Smith.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by her daughter Carla Daniel and husband, Billy Don of Denison, TX; Granddaughters Sarah Valentine and husband Eric of McKinney, TX and Monica Simpson of Caney, OK; Grandsons Zachary Daniel and wife Brooke of Celina, TX, Kody Simpson and wife Shelly of Caney, OK; Sisters Dorthy “Dot” McGrath of Caddo, OK, Sandy Woodhouse and husband Bruce of Waco, TX, and Beth Hodge and husband Danny of Caney, OK; Great Grandchildren Prestyn and Langston Valentine, Maverick and Olivia Simpson and Lydia Daniel.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Mona’s life at 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2022 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, OK. Brother Jeremy Parham will officiate. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, OK with Zachary Daniel, Eric Valentine, Kody Simpson, Billy Daniel, Danny Hodge and Brad Day serving as Pallbearers. A family hour will be held 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, OK.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
