Esther May Christina < i> Kelland Shank 72, of Colbert Oklahoma passed away at Oak Ridge Manor in Durant, Oklahoma on Monday evening July 5th, 2021. She was born in Regensburg, Germany to William and Linda Kasti Kelland on February 27, 1949.
She was raised in Virginia. She was raised in a Catholic and military family. After 34 years of marriage she joins her husband Gale Shank in Heaven. He passed away on October 5th 2001.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Kelland and father William Kelland.
She was a loving housewife for many years. She had taught foreign languages. She enjoyed sewing, writing, and painting. She also volunteered her time to elected official campaigns.
She was survived by her only child, Jennifer Shank of Atoka Oklahoma. Her two sisters Diane and Spouse Dean Sagetz of Florida. And Janet Kelland and spouse Keith of Virginia. Her grandchildren, Olivia Shank of Durant, Oklahoma, Angela Derrick , Joseph Derrick, and Bryan Derrick including their spouses all of Atoka, Oklahoma. She had several great grandchildren, extended family and a very dear friend, Bill Gowen of Colbert, Oklahoma. Esther will be greatly missed.
A Graveside Service for Esther Shank will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning July 12, 2021 at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma with the Reverend Oby Zunmas celebrant officiating of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Madill, Oklahoma. Family hours will be held from 2-4 Sunday afternoon at the funeral Home. The register book may be signed and condolences sent to the family online @ cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com Arrangements are entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma
