Floydene Rains passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on December 28, 2010, while surrounded by her family in Bethany, Oklahoma. She was born, Myra Floydene Rains, to Floyd and Mary Morgan on October 20, 1931 at Caddo, Oklahoma. She was married to Harold Rains for 56 years, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2008.
Floydene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed 45 years as a pastor’s wife, supporting her husband’s ministry as partner, secretary, office manager, and in many other capacities. They ministered together for the Church of the Nazarene in South Dakota, Texas and Oklahoma.
Services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Caddo, Oklahoma, at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2010. Rev. Jason Crouch and Rev. Steve Nation will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, Oklahoma. Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Family viewing will be at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma, on Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 7 – 8 p.m.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by her two sons, Loyd and his wife Pam of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Rick and his wife Debbie of Edmond, Oklahoma, granddaughter Morgan Green and her husband Mike of Bethany, Oklahoma, and grandsons Geoff Rains and his wife Rebecca of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cody Rains of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Geron Rains of San Diego, California, brother Maurice Morgan and his wife Dorothy of McKinney, Texas, and sister Mary Nell McMichael and her husband Jerry of Caddo, Oklahoma
